Sovietistan Travel specializes in culturally unique travel experiences that explore Central Asia’s most fascinating places. 'Sovietistan' is the name of the region of the former Soviet republics of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. It is also colloquially referred to as the "stans" as the countries generally considered to be within the region all have names ending with the Persian suffix "-stan", meaning "land of"

Sovietistan Travel has office in Denmark and Kyrgyzstan. A family company, Sovietistan Travel and its sister company Miksture Expeditions, remains privately owned and has been awarded for the financial security of its operations. Miksture Expeditions specializes in biologically (ornithological and wildlife) unique travel experiences that explore the most fascinating places. Our expeditions are inspired by a passion for true exploration and a desire to understand our ever-changing planet.

All of our different business operations are united under the same set of principles that govern a commitment to quality, responsible travel and customer satisfaction.

Our guests comes from all over the World, and the language spoken on our tours is English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, German, French, Spanish, Russian, and the groups is always accompanied by 1-2 tour leaders speaking minimum two languages, plus local guide(s) speaking extra  and local languages.
